Key design guidance

Here are some key tips to ensuring your design is compliant to standards and the best outdoor gym for your community:

Safety

• Ensure each piece has a 1.5M spacing. Please check the fall zones on the DWGs (some exceed 1.5M).
• Safer surfacing is required under some pieces that have a fall height for example the monkey bars or Rig. Please see product cards for each piece for details. Download all product cards here or specific product cards here.
• Always include a Welcome Sign for key information, trainer tips, scannable QR codes for online demonstrations, gym owner contact details and to meet required standards.
• Ensure the layout and any ancillary products are in accordance with EN16630.
• If not installed by TGO, please ensure your outdoor gym is signed off by an independent playground inspector as compliant to EN16630

Environment

• Ensure that you choose coastal spec pieces (galvanised) for any installations within 1km of the sea or high saline/ tropical environment. Download the TGO coastal specification document here.
  
• Place the console on TGO Energy pieces away from the sun to enable good visibility of LEDS.

Activation

Include these options to engage the community and measure your gym's success:

• Train local people to become TGO gym activators 
• Generate useable electricity from people power with TGO Energy equipment.
• Wherever possible, add at least one TGO Smart Energy piece to count your gym hits and kilowatt hours generated, displayed on an easy-to-use online dashboard.
